The Pho Bar epitomizes the unity of traditional ingredients and modern finesse into their Vietnamese sandwiches. A classic Vietnamese-French baguette, which is characterized by a crunchy exterior and airy interior, encases a medley of meat and vegetable fillings. The protein choices include a combo of a Vietnamese version of salami and pork paté, "fall-off-the-bone" chicken, grilled seasoned pork, or the edamame & tofu fritters, all of which are savory and flavorful. Surprisingly, the edamame & tofu fritters are phenomenal and definitely worth a try, even for non-vegetarians. The balls are crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside, like a falafel infused with Vietnamese flavors. Vibrant orange, white, and green, the pickled julienned carrots and daikons and the fresh cucumber provide a succulent, crisp crunch. The thin oblong slices of jalapeno are mostly sweet, but provide a nice kick. The cilantro adds a fresh herby accent. All together, it is a sandwich composition of a multitude of flavors and textures that meld together into ideal banh mi.
